Season Breakdown
Presently the team is in the Spring Training session of the year round program. This runs until the Manchester outdoor pools are ready to use. The summer season will begin mid- June and run through the beginning of August. The winter season begins mid to late September and runs through the middle of March or to the beginning of April depending on what Championship meets are available, Thus the MST will go 10-11 months a year.
Our home pool is at Southern New Hampshire University located on North River Road just over the Manchester line in Hooksett, NH. The pool is 6 lanes and 25 meters long and is in the field house on the bottom floor. Practices for the winter and spring season are held here. During the summer we use Raco Theodore Pool and Hunt Pool in Manchester. Raco Theodore pool (50 meters) is located on Head St. which is a left off Varney St. and Hunt Pool (50 yards) is located on Maple St. across from the JFK Ice Arena.
Tryouts
The coaching staff will have a basic evaluation for new swimmers not presently on the team. Individuals need only basic swimming ability to join and there are no "cuts" from the team. There may be limits to various ability levels that could fill up. If this happens we would have a waiting list; however every attempt will be made to accommodate as many swimmers as possible that want to join.
The team is not a "learn to swim" program, but we do develop all levels of swimmers. Basic ability and skill is a little subjective and thus an evaluation is needed. This will also help determine what training level a swimmer should start in. Through development and practice one may progress to more advanced levels.
The coaching staff encourages participation in each season because each season will build on each other and the swimmer will ultimately become more sucessful.
Training Levels
Presently MST has 3 training and ability levels. More ability levels may be add as the team grows or as may be necessary to develop the swimmers.
